Web Sessions
Talk with Kevin at his home office from your library or classroom via the internet. Kevin begins by sharing some poems and thoughts on poetry, students then ask questions, and then Kevin performs a couple of songs. Kevin can share what he's currently working on, students can share their poems with him, and Kevin then wraps it up and invites students to send in their poems for him to read.

"As a result of our Skype session with Kevin, my students were stimulated to use similar techniques in their own personal writing. The affect was obvious and even my most reluctant writers gained the confidence that they too had something to say through their writing. In addition to sharing his sources for ideas in his writing, Kevin engaged the students by integrating their thoughts and ideas into the impromptu creation of poems and songs. I knew their excitement was genuine because I overheard the positive comments they made to students in other classes who had not attended the web session as well as feedback I had from parents. Kevin's use of props added a visual element to the presentation that the students enjoyed."
